Stanley Junior School Centenary

To mark the centenary of the school pupils compared the old school building and the new. Eventually making a metal comemmorative medal.

Pages of a book made about the project.

A short residency to mark the centenary of a London School. Pupils learnt plaster casting - taking impressions from the old school building. Staff took part in an inset casting workshop. Ideas were generated for a sculpture based on an old school desk but eventually a metal coin like medallion, that included impressions from key holes of the old and new school buildings. Each pupil received an aluminium cast and staff and governors a bronze edition.

Staff took part in an inset session in which they cast the school bell with clay and used blu-tak to take casts from the ports of computers which were then joined and cast in a bowl: low mess quick casting!
